About Us
End of Life Companions (also known as Soul Midwives, Death Doulas or End of Life Doulas) are non-medical, holistic companions who guide and support the dying and their families in order to facilitate the most gentle and tranquil death possible.
We cover the South Devon and Dartmoor area, including Plymouth, Exeter and Torbay.
We offer a range of gentle therapies to soothe and reassure and are skilled advocates and advisors.
We are non-denominational in our pastoral support, encouraging deep conversation, with love and dignity.
Our work may begin from point of diagnosis and continue until the final day of life and beyond, with encouragement and support to live life fully, until the end.
End of Life Companions are helping to transform the personal and collective experiences of dying and living, within the community, by helping anyone facing the end of life to
experience a tender, peaceful and conscious death.
In addition to the Companion service, some of us also act as celebrants, offer workshops and group support, grief tending and bereavement support.

Being alongside
your journey
We can spend time with you, encouraging and opening conversations about death and dying to reduce your fears and isolation.
We are open and non – judgemental, welcoming all your emotions, meeting you just where you are on this journey.
Funerals and
grief support
We can offer guidance and comfort to your family and friends after your death, including support with death registration paperwork, and assisting with funeral arrangements.
We can continue to offer emotional support for your bereaved after death.
