Cathy Pennicott
My journey into end-of-life care began with a deeply personal experience. When my mother died, I witnessed first-hand the profound difference that open conversations, thoughtful preparation, and emotional support can make at the end of life. That experience continues to guide my work today.
In 2022, I trained as a Soul Midwife, and in 2024 I fully qualified after completing my case studies. I now work as an End of Life Companion, offering compassionate, holistic support to individuals and their families during one of life’s most challenging and significant times.
How I Can Support You
I offer a flexible, person-centred approach, guided entirely by your wishes and those of your family. Every journey is unique, and the support I provide will reflect what matters most to you.
This may include:
• Creating memory books, keepsakes, or recordings to capture your story in your own words
• Exploring and planning your end-of-life wishes, including the people, environment, sounds, scents, and setting that feel right for you
• Providing emotional support and a calm, listening presence
• Helping to facilitate open and sometimes difficult conversations with loved ones
• Supporting families experiencing anticipatory grief, whether sudden or over a longer period
Practical Support
Alongside emotional and spiritual care, I can also help with practical preparations, such as:
• Assistance with forms and applications for allowances
• Guidance and support with funeral planning
• Organising important documents, paperwork, and passwords for your family
• Gentle support with “death clearing” or decluttering
My Approach
Above all, I am here to listen. I will take the time to understand what truly matters to you and work alongside you with compassion, respect, and sensitivity. My role is to help ensure that your wishes are honoured and that both you and your family feel supported, prepared, and cared for every step of the way.
